The Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) is a non-profit professional organization established in 1971. KSEA is dedicated to promoting the application of science and technology for the general welfare of society, fostering international cooperation—particularly between the United States and Korea—and supporting Korean American scientists and engineers in achieving their full professional potential. Today, KSEA comprises over 7,000 members across more than 70 chapters worldwide.
This year, we are proud to host the KSEA DMV Regional Conference, marking the revival of the DMV Regional Conference after more than a decade. The DMV region—representing Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia—serves as a strategic hub for federal agencies, research institutions, national laboratories, and technology-driven industries, making it a vital nexus for science, innovation, and policy.
The conference is hosted by the Washington Metro Chapter, Central Virginia Chapter, Southern Virginia Chapter, and Baltimore Chapter, and is jointly organized in collaboration with APS and partner organizations, including KLAM, KASBI, KASBP–DC Chapter, JHBIC, NIH, KAPAL, and KASSTA.
Held under the theme
“Empowering Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship through U.S.–Korea Academic & Industry Collaboration,”
the conference aims to strengthen cross-border collaboration among academia, industry, and government, while highlighting emerging technologies, translational research, and entrepreneurial pathways that connect scientific discovery to real-world impact. This revitalized DMV Regional Conference seeks to reestablish a sustainable regional platform that fosters networking, knowledge exchange, and long-term collaboration between the U.S. and Korea.
